Forestry Mulching
Process approved brush, briars, saplings and understory in place. Mulching can improve visibility and access while leaving organic material across the work area instead of creating brush piles that automatically need hauling.
Northern Kentucky & Cincinnati Tri-State
Clear overgrown acreage, open access, expose fence lines and prepare the next phase with a plan matched to the vegetation, terrain and finished result.
One Property, the Right Clearing Method
Land clearing is not one identical service. A wooded understory, a honeysuckle-covered fence row, a future driveway route and a structure site all require different equipment, boundaries and expectations. Starrett begins with the property’s intended use, then matches forestry mulching, brush clearing, skid-steer work, demolition support or debris removal to the approved scope.
That approach keeps a customer from paying for work that does not move the property toward its next use. It also clarifies what will remain: mulch, stumps, roots, large trees, debris, rough grade or a surface that needs additional preparation.
Land-Clearing Options
A clear estimate identifies the method, work boundary and finish instead of treating every acre like the same job.
Process approved brush, briars, saplings and understory in place. Mulching can improve visibility and access while leaving organic material across the work area instead of creating brush piles that automatically need hauling.
Open yards, property edges, wood lines and smaller overgrown areas where invasive honeysuckle, vines or briars have taken over. Existing growth can be processed, but permanent eradication and zero regrowth are not promised.
Reopen maintenance paths, expose property lines and create practical equipment or hunting access where width, grade, turns, overhead clearance and ground conditions are suitable. Boundaries and hidden wire must be identified first.
Rough grading, driveway cut-ins, pad preparation, material handling and heavy cleanup may follow clearing or support a demolition project. These services are quoted separately from forestry mulching.
New Verified Large-Property Scope
Starrett completed a fence-line trail, opened the areas around three ponds and created a route through the middle of the property to the rear pond. The case study documents the verified scope without publishing the customer’s location, address, price or private details.
Authentic Starrett Work
These are Starrett project photos—not stock land-clearing images. They show the Bobcat T770 working on sloped acreage and finished ground after vegetation and debris were addressed within the approved scope.
Production varies with density, slope, soil, access, hidden obstacles and the finish requested. The dedicated Pendleton County project page shows original machine footage and finished conditions from a verified eight-hour forestry-mulching scope.

Clear Starting Rates
Forestry-mulching levels are confirmed after reviewing density, terrain, access, obstacles and the requested finish. Combined land-clearing projects may use more than one separately quoted service.
The confirmed forestry rate includes the Bobcat T770, mulching attachment, fuel, routine operating costs and an experienced owner-operator. Skid-steer work is $125 per hour with a four-hour minimum. Local mobilization is included within 20 miles of California, Kentucky. Travel beyond 20 miles, hauling, stump work, demolition, grading, excavation, delivered material and disposal are quoted separately.
Fall & Cooler-Weather Planning
As leaves drop and seasonal vegetation thins, owners may get a clearer view of boundaries, fence wire, drainage paths, old debris, slopes and structures hidden by summer growth. That visibility can help define a trail, fence-line, demolition or broader clearing scope before spring regrowth. Cooler-weather work still depends on safe soil, access and weather conditions, and no production result is guaranteed from the season alone.
Photograph posts, wire, corners, utilities, structures and neighboring property while they are easier to see.
Plan trails, maintenance routes and equipment access for future grading, demolition or property work.
Use the cleared area to inspect drainage, stumps, grade and remaining debris before a spring project begins.
Plan Before Equipment Arrives
Land-clearing production cannot be judged by acreage alone. Two equal-size properties may have completely different vegetation, slope, debris and access.
Send wide photos or a slow walkthrough showing the entrance, gates, turns, overhead clearance, slopes, vegetation and nearby property.
Identify boundaries, desirable trees, buildings, wells, septic components, utilities, culverts, wire, posts, rocks, holes and buried debris.
Explain whether you want sight lines, a trail, a clean fence row, rough-cleared acreage, demolition access, a driveway route or a site ready for additional grading.
What May Remain After Clearing
Forestry mulching normally leaves processed organic material on the ground. It does not automatically remove every root, larger stump, rock, buried object or piece of wire. A rough-cleared area is also not the same as a compacted driveway, engineered building pad or finished lawn.
Standing trees larger than 10 inches in diameter are outside Starrett’s standard forestry-mulching scope. Hazardous trees or work close to utilities and structures may require a qualified tree-service provider or a separate safety plan. If the next use requires stump removal, hauling, grading, stone, demolition or disposal, those items should be included in the estimate request and priced separately.
Regional Land-Clearing Coverage
Starrett is based in California, Kentucky and serves approved properties across Northern Kentucky and the Cincinnati Tri-State. Exact availability, travel and equipment access are confirmed from the property address.
California, Alexandria, Cold Spring, Highland Heights, Fort Thomas and surrounding Campbell County properties, plus qualifying Pendleton County acreage and rural access projects.
Covington, Independence, Wilder and nearby properties needing overgrowth control, fence-line access, site cleanup or connected demolition and skid-steer work.
Florence, Burlington, Hebron, Union and surrounding properties where access, terrain and travel allow safe equipment mobilization.
Qualifying Cincinnati-area and Tri-State projects are reviewed by exact address, property access, work scope and travel before scheduling.
Land-Clearing FAQs
What kinds of land clearing does Starrett handle?
Starrett quotes overgrown acreage, wooded understory, honeysuckle and brush, fence lines, trails, pond and wood-line edges, access routes, site clearing and connected property work.
How much does land clearing cost?
Forestry mulching is $250, $275 or $300 per hour based on conditions, with a four-hour minimum at the confirmed rate. Skid-steer work is $125 per hour with a four-hour minimum. Added services are separate.
Does mulching remove roots and stumps?
Not automatically. Mulching processes approved vegetation at or near ground level. Roots, larger stumps, buried material and grading require a separate scope.
Can Starrett clear trails and fence lines?
Yes, where equipment width, turns, grade, overhead clearance and ground conditions are suitable. The owner must identify boundaries, utilities and hidden wire.
Is fall a smart time to plan?
Fall can improve visibility and provide planning time before spring regrowth, but work still depends on safe weather, soil and access.
What should I send for an estimate?
